The SS held the patent for the design of the runes.

Commercial companies could not make them willy-nilly.

Any item bearing the runes had to be made under an SS contract.

It'll be interesting to see what they fetch.

No wonder they didn't put their makers mark on them!!!

Robin, not willy-nilly but,, I understand the problem with the SS runes but pre war black enamel SS rune rings were sold thru out Germany/Austria and they were sold from commercial retail jewelry outlets with only cash needed.

I believe there was once a topic here that showed a period listing for SS cufflinks so some sort of SS cufflink had to be sold for those that wanted them.

I think these appeared on a Himmler presentation birthday list................among the books, swords, Allach porcelain, etc. etc. that Himmler presented to his pals on their birthdays.

Unfortunately, the design of the 'official' presentation cufflinks remains unknown.

I doubt that there was an "official" pair of cufflinks. I have posted from the "Gahr" book, pictures of the 800, hallmarked cufflinks made by Gahr. These are very different than the one's that I have previously posted. In the Cook and Bender book, the tuxedo buttons are identical to the bottons posted by another member and are identical to the cufflinks I have posted. It is obvious that the Gahr cufflinks would have been far more expensive, being in silver and hallmarked. However, I doubt that the use of the Gahr items would have been mandatory, since no cufflinks would have had to have been approved by the RZM.

                                Hello there,

Do they show the reverse of any of the tuxedo buttons in the text?
