Hi guys, I just received in today's mail this SS 50 Phennig Token. Nothing major, but I think it's pretty cool. Just thought I'd share it!

Who ever made that token spelled heißt with an extra "s", "Meine Ehre heissst Treue!"... Nice one

Quite amazing how they would make a relatively expensive die to strike these , and then make such a simple spelling error ?

BTW , " GROSCHEN " would have made this an AUSTRIAN item ( as opposed to " Reichspfennig " ) .

Interestingly enough I looked in some older German dictionaries from the 1800s/early 1900s and contrary to what I had thought "Heiszt" is actually an older spelling of heißt so the use of the word would appear to fit the time period but of course does not prove it is real by itself.
