Wow! Does it ever. There is a "Junak" tab discussed on the HJ forum from a period discussion. I am assuming that this tab is it? The photograph does not appear to be period made. Do you have any history on it? Thanks. Doug

              Sorry, Doug. I don't.

I found it on the net somewhere.

Got any idea what armband would go with my tab?

I'm thinking of adding to this. Doug

Yeah. I was thinking that that was the case. So there is a specific tab that goes with a specific armband for the country involved. I'm very interested in how many tabs are out there and the accompanying armbands for these guys. The only two tabs I have heard of to this point are the ones above. With almost 100K guys from all over Europe involved in this program I'm thinking that there are more. Maybe, Baltic states, low countries, France, Italy, or the Balkans wich all had Fascist Youth groups.
On the other hand this is a really late dealeo (Nov 44 to the end) so the supply chain was broke and this was a rather lower priority than some others so who the heck knows? Doug

                      - Altogether there were about 8 different armbands:

                      - Ukrainians
                      - Galicians
                      - Russians
                      - Belarus
                      - Volga-Tartars
                      - Latvians
                      - Estonians
                      - Lithuanians

                      - The name patch meaning "Youth" was only printed for the two nations - Ukrainians "Junak" and Russians "Vospitanik". the senior Latvian officers with the Flakhelpers would wear "Stabs" patch (means HQ).

P.S. The photo with Ukrainian (actually Galicia) boy is actually a scan from a original pic owned by Gaspare.

                        Ever seen a Russian Armband?

I would love to see what the Russian armband looked like. Would that work for other subgroups as well? Doug

Do you remember if it had some device on it as the one below did?

Yeah. I'll bet there was a poster for recruiting these guys. Three hots and a cot looks real good when everyone out there is starving. I'm sure that most of them got a "tenner" or just shot after the war. Doug

Can anybody post a picture of the Poster?

I sure would love to see and or get one. Doug
