    Question about reproduction uniforms

I recently started collecting WW2 items, so my collection is quite humble so far.
I would like to buy a reproduction SS uniform, since a real one is too expensive. At least for now. As far as I have been able to understand things, some of the finest experts are to be found on this forum. So without further ado:

To give you some more information: I don’t want a cheap uniform. I want one that is accurate. I don’t want an expert telling me the pockets are all wrong, for instance. The uniform should be of good quality. I don’t mind paying a few hundred dollars for such a uniform. I’m torn between a field uniform (wool?) and a dress uniform (gabardine or tricot?). I might get one of each. I have looked at many webpages on the internet. Hessen Antique, 1944militaria.com, thehistorybunker.co.uk, lostbattalions.com, militariacollection.com, achtung-blitzkrieg.com, atthefront.com, epicmilitaria.com, on-the-march.com, hollywoodprop.com and many, many more.

    My first question here is:
Where should I buy the first-class uniform? I found a couple of dealers in Canada who seem to sell high quality items. What do you think about buying the officer visor cap ($275) and reproduction SS dagger ($375) from this dealer: http://www.thirdreich.ca? (just scroll down the first page).
I have heard that Janke had good quality, and that this dealer perhaps has Janke-products. Nevertheless, several people think they sell good quality: http://stahladler.com
The problem is that I have mailed them three times the last month, but they don’t respond. Have they gone out of business? If not, is this the place to buy?

I value your opinion and your advice.

Save your money and buy real items, I would much rather have a real Heer tunic than a fake SS one! If you buy reproduction you are just throwing your money away and buying somthing that has no connection to history at all.

I have to agree with dhunter93 here. I believe there's no point in collecting pieces that are not authentic. I recommend starting off smaller, I too like to collect SS pieces but I'm also 29 years old, how many 29 year olds do you know have $5000-10000 to drop on a tunic? So I decided to focus on collar tabs and shoulder straps, the smaller more affordable items which still allow me to be connected with collecting my passion for WWII history without breaking the bank.
