    SS Saddle Blanket

There was a post somewhere here the other week about how best to display these things.

Anyway, here's how mine looks, held on the wall by a couple of picture hooks and two safety pins!

        Robin,

        Nice and clean saddle blanket.
        But,.....no offense.........
Too bad the TK designer wasn't a little more...."inspired".

Either way, it would still look good on my wall, safety pins and all.

          I agree.

I think he based it on the TK used on von Hantelmann's aircraft.................

Robin, at a local saddlery or "tack" shop, I found a tubular alumuminum saddle rack. It is about 30" high and folds out like a lawn chair. The blacket can be opened and displayed nicely, especially if you find a saddle for it. The legs are held in place by canvas staps that are stout enough to hold storage boxes underneath. That's how I displayed my police blanket and saddle.

Robin, Is this a similiar TK design that was used on the kettle drum covers when on horseback?
                      Thanks,
                      Greg

no doubt he has to be in order to ride so close to the business end of the horse and his rider!

..........yah, he kinda grows on ya after a little while.

But I'll tell you Robin, my all time favorite is this one that you posted on another thread some time back.

Now this one really sends shivers down my back. That big hairy "whatchama callit" would look Grand on my livingroom wall, fleas and all !!!!
It would need some meat hooks to hang it up, as safety pins would surely not suffice.

No................different. I've only seen this type on the horseblankets.

Here's the horse blanket maker label...........
