    SS Eagle restored

Allways hard to find an original eagle for your visor. We found one with the pin's broken of, the only pin left was allready (badly) replaced (when, I do not know). It was just good enough as a display item. We decided to keep the lower pin where it was and restore the other two. This is the result. Would this eagle be fit enough to be airborne once more?

Was your technique to restore the pins an epoxy glue based one? It looks good from here.

                Thanks all for you comments,

No, it doesn't have anything to do with epoxy. The original remains of the pin's were partly drilled out, the hole filled up with silver where the new pin's are now bedded in.

Silver???How is bonding silver to zinc/pot metal possible??? Never heard of that before. The heat required to melt silver would destroy the eagle.
