    SS Membership pin Number 1555

I know its a needle in a haystack, but does anyone have pin number 1555. I have the dagger that also belonged to SS Obersturmfuhrer Eugen Links and this pin number is listed in the records for this SS officer. Figure if the dagger made it here maybe his pin did as well..........Best Jimmy

Hey,thats great.First the dagger (is that numbered?therefore the "Trigger")
Then the Personnel Docs with the SSZA box ticked? and entered. Not always
    there.
Now comes the BIG HUNT.Where is it!!!! Low number too.
    Well done.Good luck.
    Lets hear how it goes.....

The SS officer was a police Hauptwactmeister. Part of the file was burned. I've always wondered what happened to him after the war. I lose him in 1944 as far as the records go. I always wondered if there was a possible Gesrapo connection due too his police training. The dagger was part of Tom Wittmans collection at one time and is shown in a full page photo in his book. It's SS number is 2650 if i remember correctly......Best Jimmy

Lots of Records failed to be updated beyond 1944.The Main Records Office
to my knowledge was at Dachau with file copies in Berlin.
I had a similar "Loss" and went to WaSt in Berlin (Births,Hatches,Despatches)
I got what I needed to put closure AND a pleasing benefit at the end.
If you have the urge, drop me a PM and I will tell you what you to do.
Maybe even short cut a very beaurocratic system
