I personally don't like it. Where are the nail holes that held it in place?
No signs of it being ever being supported that I can see.
Also, looks artificially "stressed" and aged to me. but that's JMHO.

The direction signs I have seen are painted, this thing would be almost useless at night etc. What would the XII represent for a Divison command.

I see the nail holes now at the one end, I didn't consider it may have been supported at one end. But regardless it still doesn't look "good" to me, looks manufacted to fool.
