      HD,
Check out this thread from this forum, recent(last week),
      http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...=403217&page=4

There are many more threads to be found here on WAF about these, and the green ones. I love the Red Fezzes, and think that the value will jump on these sometime very soon(it already is), for various reasons.
I'll bet anyone some cash that Himmler preferred the red ones over the green as well,... they are more mystical and mysterious, and we all know that HH leaned that way!!

        ss fez

What would be a decent price on this fez given the wrapping is gone?? Seller does have the original thread that was used for the tassel wrap.

        Thanks,

Thats a "one looker" for sure, the price would range from about $700-$1000 retail.

I'm guessing at least 10% more than that nowadays. Some sites are asking unrealistic amounts for these right now, like up to 100% more than those numbers.
Unrealistic yes, but I bet they sell sometimes at those prices. These things are very cool and underpriced, Imho.

Within recent memory, they used to be $350. The market is at $900-$1200 for the reds. $1800-$2400 for the green.

I know, I remember those low prices too, and people used to get them just to remove the insignia to put on a cap or something. Funny how things change!
I agree with you on the current prices you state.
P.s. remember when an chained SS dagger could be had for $350 as well? I guess that was a little further back though.

                      band details

Lots of people try and buy damaged or missing parts fezes, thinking there gonna save money. Its best to just buy a good one unmolested from the start. Even if you have the parts, and try to repair it , The knowledgeable will still know. (even with an original machine thread etc. then call it resored...BBBRRRRTTT.) I suspect they had ladies sitting around making them all day, its difficult to get it right. thats why i tweaked the colors a little on the thread.(better stick with black)hahaha just kidding) Good luck on your fez.
