Schiffer's KL related books; your opinion

    Hello guys,

    I would like to hear you opinions about the following books;

    -The Ghetto men
    -The Field men
    -The Camp men
    -The Camp women
    -Atrocities at Mathausen
    -Auschwitz Commander

I'm mainly a paper collector so, I would like to ask you, what about pictures and ID\documents in there?
    Interesting stuff or mainly text?
Do you suggest me to buy them?

    Books

McClean's works contain brief histories (in most cases) of the participants of his individulal books. They contain many photographs. Of particular interest for TK /KZ collar insignia collectors is the photo section of The Camp Men.

Auschwitz Commander is an autobiography of Rudolf Hoess and contains few images.

I am not familiar with Atrocities at Mauthusen.

As far as photos of documents, I'm afraid these books will not be very helpful.

McLean's books are expensive; $40.00+. The others, very inexpensive.

Do you have "The Good Old Days" by Hugh Trevor-Roper?

No Peter, I don't, but I was a bit concerned, I got no stomach for gruesome pictures, they are not my kind of stuff...

              The Good Old Days

The Good Old Days. Klee, Dressen & Riess are the editors. Roper wrote the introduction. A good tome nonethewless.
