Thank you for your opinion. Can you share with us what we should be looking for, what is right, what is wrong? Thanks

                    Belt

Before posting the pics I did do a search on the forum on the belts and though the buckle did not look crisp enough to me I thought the belt compared well to another one that had been posted earlier.
                    Thanks

The SS runes and oak leaves on the belt, don't match known originals. But worst is the cloth attachments. The RZM cloth tags were black, not white, and the bottom number "45" is the supposed date of manufacture. These little cloth tags were not used after 1938. The last one's show a date of "38". In 1945, these could never exist. Production ceased around 1941. I've never seen the large cloth tag. This belt is a reproduction.

Thanks alot for the info , it is much appreciated. It is so much nicer when people can give specifics like this, that way in the future other people doing thread searches can easily see the info. It can be quite time consuming to try and run down specifics within these threads and examples and reasons given are so much more believeable over 'its wrong because I said so". No one learns anything from those types of answers so often seen here.
                        Thanks again.

You are welcome. You have a right to specifics to support the usual "its wrong because I said so". That is THE problem with the SS insignia forum. "Go to such and such a thread, if you really want to know". Many times that does not help.

Yes but the problem with providing exact information is people producing fakes use the forum as a sounding board to perfect items and fish threads for details collectors know are "tells" on reproductions.

So not saying the person that started the thread is doing this but most people are careful to not post specific details that could be used to improve copies. Most people on the forum are very helpful but are careful for this reason.

Precisely, we try to help and share our (expensively and hard learned) knowledge but many new collectors seem to DEMAND that knowledge as of their right and with little, if any, thanks.

Many, if not most, seem not to have bothered to make any effort to find the answers for themselves. Some even dream of publishing a book based solely on the knowledge of (unpaid) others.
