Thanks for the reassurance.The thing was sourced from a local picker/estate seller who acquired it from a Navy vet, story goes the Navy vet won the bird in a poker game with a GI while on board ship.

When I bought the thing I was pretty confident it was OK as it looks exactly as one I owned 40 years ago.
