Waffen SS Panzer Officer At Walmart

I was shopping at Walmart, which I don't enjoy, so I was talking to a TR collector friend on the phone when I was passed by a guy wearing a black SS officers panzer wrap, officer piped collar, with matching officers piped black M-43, black leather belt at waist, and black pants and boots of some sort. I only saw him from behind at this point.

I had to really move through a crowded store to finally catch this guy. It had the bridles and buttons for boards on the wrap, but he had no insignia on anything. I told him I was just talking to a friend about a panzer wrap when he walked by, and of course my friend didn't believe me. He said he had just found a TK for the cap on ebay, so I knew it was all fake...but still a dashing sight walking around a Walmart.

I didn't think to snap a photo for that "People Seen At A Walmart" website, or the forum...darn!

That would be pretty good, thing is that at www.peopleofwalmart.com they likly wouldn't get it.... Kinda odd to just be out walking round in one. I do have a Stug style wrapper that is a repro that I wear as a jacket when it gets chilly, and I have gotten several compliments on it Its void of any insignia, but does have loops for a set of officer boards. Haha..Thats a cool story/ I wore my black Uboat officers and mechanics jacket daily for years . Everything from shopping to picking up my son at school. Sometimes also my full length Wehrmacht leather coats. I miss those days.

I was walking in downtown San Francisco and walking the other way was a guy wearing a re-enactor black 4-button tunic with a Britische Freikorps tab on one side and 3 pips on the other. He had the cuff title but no sleeve eagle. Very stylish.

I visited the Army Ordnance Museum in Aberdeen, Maryland one year and found a guy all dressed in Waffen-SS black panzer uniform (reproduction) and setting up a camera on a tripod to click off pictures of himself standing in front of the Panthers and Tiger tanks parked outside. He was a very interesting guy to talk to. He generally did living history. Another guy I know of dresses in Army black panzer uniforms each year at the open house of the Virginia Museum of Military Vehicles (www.vmmv.org). He narrates as many of the tanks run around the field for the visitors.

Dress up

I was out garage sailing one day and ran into a guy selling Third Reich items. Nothing special and mostly over priced. We got to chatting and he said he used to travel all over the world and pick up stuff. He told me about a guy that had a little third Reich shop. He said he dressed in the black complete SS outfit. He told me the guy was creepy. Wish I could have seen that. Any one know of this guy and his shop?
