Out of curiosity, nearly all sources I have state this tab was never issued though I have heard a few rumors of period photos turning up which do show it in use (never seen the photos...). Am I correct in believing that the notion this tab was ever used is a load of BS?

With a few exceptions, I personally think it's likely that most of Dachau tabs got issued to a few people at least. The specific problem with the Skanderbeg division is that almost all the known photos show members wearing '44 dot' uniforms without insignia. It is known that the armshield and cuff-title were issued and worn to a limited extent (there are photos showing the divisional logistics officer von Pistor - an ex Corporal in the British Army no less - wearing them) and I would speculate that the collar tab was worn too.

Wasn't the skanderberg unit only in existence for a short while,6 months or something?
