The officer in the dot tunic is wearing a heer visor cap indicating to me he served in th heer not SS thus the placement of the eagle over the breast...an unusual photo of a heer officer wearing SS regalia. It appears he is among other heer soldiers the guy next to him in the other photo lacks a sleeve eagle.

This uniform (like the one that started this thread) would be laughed at in modern times!
      Nick,

Correct and legitimate use of the Heer insignia on the breast according to Richard Schulze-Kossens in his book 'Die Junkerschulen'.

Kossens states this was the case when former Junkers were seconded to the Heer, I quote; ' In accordance with instruction of the Commander in Chief at that time, they wore the National Emblem of the Army on their uniform'. A picture of SS-Obersturmfuehrer Peter A. Kausch is shown where the Heer emblem is affixed correctly in the Heer position over the breast pocket.

He also mentions in 1938, 200 Officers of the SS-VT and 100 of the Police were seconded to the Heer.

This is a personal favorite speaking of cross service conversions, an SS issue hbt tailored into a lightweight service tunic for an Army medical officer.

Sorry for the game playing guys but I really wanted to see if this was just another bull**** blog where people go to spew their self-proclaimed bull**** knowledge. Many of you DO know your stuff and that is very impressive.

Sorry for the dupe guys but the best way to see if something or someone is true blue, sucker punch em and see if they see it coming. You did. Good job.

What a complete waste of time and effort.

Almost every single tunic that mmurray306 has posted for opinions on the forum is either questionable or humped up, some of which he then put up on eBay. Interestingly enough, he also posted an "SS medical smock" for opinions as well. He posted other questionable tunics after his so-called "test" on the humped-up M43 or whatever it is.

I didnt know that there would be a test associated with WAF.......... If this is truely the motive for this bizarre thread, how many other "experts" are questioning the collective knowledge of forum members? I am raising the BS flag on this one.

                        test..whateves

Years ago the sheriff of Youngstown, Ohio, was caught redhanded on video taking a cash bribe...he defended himself in court stating he was conducting a "one-man sting operation."

For some inexplicable reason (some say because of his reputation for looking out for the little guy when homes and businesses were foreclosing around Youngstown) the sheriff was acquitted. Like John Dillinger ("I rob banks because that's where the money is"), the sheriff ran for US Congress and won serving multiple terms before being convicted on corruption, bribery & embezzlement.

He ran for his congressional seat from federal prison, and recently released, may run for his old seat.

I'm glad we "passed the test" of the maker of the humped-up tunic monstrosity; now the mods should just ban him outright...

I personally doubt he was testing us. Looks more like he was testing the waters:

"Hey how good am I at fabricating an untouched gem of a tunic
out of spare parts scattered across the E-Stand and various dealer websites?"

I am not one to point fingers, but honestly how can you defend this tunic? Even I would tell right out it was bogus.

Wow, new level of stupidity on WAF! But I like the idea kck indirectly proposed - maybe there should be a test of one’s knowledge before they’re permitted to participate in the commentary… I like that idea!

Yeah I remember this old thread. The base tunic is interesting and went through a war, having shrapnel damage and blood stains even!
I know this because I bought it stripped after it got exposed to be a fabricated piece and story...
                                I thoroughly inspected it!
Some might remember it in its current re-restored/rebuilt configuration!
For some maybe too over the top but because foreign units including Handschar used hand-me-down 6 button Heer uniforms,
I thought this would be an interesting impression. It had SS ghosts becasue of the TK insignia so I chose this SS foreign volunteer theme...
