    Unknown Skull

This came with a vet lot and I never could figure out what it was. Apparantly it was made to be screwed to something. it came with party armbands, a runic collar tab, various eagles, SS and Heer, and other non related items.

It is about 2 inches across.

    Any ideas?

I had a very similar one years ago, maybe something related to cemeteries, too heavy to be an insigna IMHO.

        Skull

I think it was meant to be screwed to front of a pirate chest.
Just kidding Bob, I don't know for sure.

A relation to cemetries? Possible. I have seen a lot of these skulls. The holes look like made for screws. Another option is is for screwing onto the door of an old poison cabinet. Who knows?

                  No way.

As far as I remember this one is quite heavy, as said IMHO cemetery or door, something not military related anyway.

                      It's probably a WW1 skull for Sturmtruppen .

I have the exact same one gotten from a vet lot also....never did know what it was...hafta look to see if i can put my finger on it to photo for comparison. mine is made of cast iron. I thought maybe from the door of a crematorium oven, but all the photos of the doors to the ovens never revealed anything but plain metal doors at least in the shots of the ovens shown in books and documentaries, so I hope someone figures this one out someday. OOps here it is, check it out.

Again, this is NOT a Sturmtruppen badge.

Bob, that looks older than WWII based on the technique used, typical to 19th Century cast door and furniture hardware etc. They continued to cast like later this but I suspect it is late 1800s. Masons etc. and other secrect societies also used items like this.
