Agree with Fritz, this is not one you would like to have in your collection. A lot of red flags, one of them is the construction.

      Best regards, Tom

The sewing machine was not set correctly and is skipping everywhere .
This is a sure sign of the construction being done at a very poor level .
Real covers though made very fast on a production line were good quality ,but slightly sloppy .
This one has been through the ringer giving it a real old look .
But as the members called it above is not Wartime made .

However the eyebrows on the head are Amazing !!!!!!
The eyes almost follow you around the room , like in the Fall of the House of Usher !!!!

              Papillion

Well, I don't care for the Helmet Cover, but I like the Butterflys.

Guys - Little off topic here ------ have a close look at the purple ground color of the fabric on this helmet cover. You will notice a pattern in it. Looks like a bit like a floral pattern and its evident on all panels.

I have a #1 planetree zelt with a similar pattern in the purple ground. The zelt is 100% original.

Im not questioning whether the cover is original I believe the cloth is but my question - have any of you seen anything like this on any other German camo cloth items? This is not the 2nd piece I've seen with this.

Just wondering if anyone has ever seen anything like this before?

One has to look closely at the fabric otherwise it just looks like staining.

It leads me to believe that the fabric was printed for something else and then has had the camo print applied.

                        Any ideas??????
                        Thanks

                          Camo Fabric

                          Camo Master:

I have a SS helmet cover with the same detail as your zelt. Very faded flower print behind the camo pattern. I tried to take some photos, but it is very difficult to see (look in the middle of 2nd photo for flower).

First your cover looks like platanen nr.5? Right?
hm, perhaps this is a dobbelprinted for some reason?
