    SS marked boots

    Question for the knowledgeable.....

These boots are marked SS 237/44 rzm

I beleive the ss stopped using the rzm in 1942, so that would make these bogus stamps?

    Thanks, Jawes

I recall that the inmates in Dachau were making footwear early on, but I don't recall them continuing this process much beyond the beginning of the war. Much of the stuff that the Waffen-SS used, clothing-wise was contracted out. As for officer boots, etc. most of it was privately purchased as officers were provided with a clothing allowance.

              ss boots

I have ones RZM, SS marked from 1936. They are marked on the soles next to the size stamp. They are size 44, which is about 11 in US size. Very large size which somehow makes sense, since they were enlisting big guys into SS during that time.
The stamp above looks fake to me. It looks too deep and too fresh. In that location considering the wear of the leather it should be more worn out.

I agree with Jack - the marking seems too crisp rather than being aged with the leather. raises red flags.

                  Thanks for help

Was 1942 the last year the ss used the RZM, or did they continue onto later than that?

those ss- and rzm-stamps are being produced and sold lately on militaria-fairs in Europe (La Gleize and Ciney) for about 50-100 euro's a piece. Easy to fake leather items.
                    Be carefull!!!!!!!!
