Yes, that is a good (and so simple ) idea to just take a measuring tape and tell us the size (height and width) ... in cm would be great...

Schlicht/Angolia: "Die deutsche Wehrmacht, Band 1, Das Heer" describes the skulls for the Panzeruniform on page 142. They indicate the measure 2,3 x 2,2 cm (0.9 x 0.86 inch).

The similar skull I own is about 3,1 x 2,8 cm.

The other cap skull variant I have to compare is about 3,5 x 3 cm.

... you mean the 2nd pattern SS-only-skull? These are real SS, too - although not only SS. I think this identification is of interest here in the SS-category as well as in the wehrmacht or the imperial category.

As "realone" said, he got it "sometime ago with a group of original SS Items". So this category fits well in my opinion.

Similar to what? Not the skull at the start of this thread.

well now I am getting a little bit confused. The skull from post #1 is clearly a panzer collar tab one - the other skulls shown in the other thread are bigger and for the cap.

So what are we now talking about???

I am talking about the skull on post #4.
I clearly stated in on post #22

I admit, it is slightly different in construction to mine, but also different to Panzer tab TKs.
Well, let us wait for the measures....

@ carlsson: I am talking about the one in post 1. It is not so clear. As I already said: Measuring helps here...

                  Danke Eurocentric

de first skull posted is of course a ordinary panzertab skull. But we were talking about the one posted after it, which is more intresting to discuss.

Well, I looked at the picture RUHL13 posted of the officers Tab. I missed that one while reading. I had not seen that variant of tab skull jet (as panzer tabs are not my collecting priority). That one is really identical in detail to the 1 post. I only have those with poorer detail.

Sorry for insisting on my opinion and for blowing up this thread...
