Yes, these are true singles, perhaps used as a pair. The distal end twist portion of the boards should be opposite each other in a true pair. These twist in the same direction.

These are both wearer's left shoulder boards (the slope in the loop should face front and your's are both the same) although I shouldn't let it worry you.
