    Possible Scammer But Definite A-Hole!!!!

Ok guys I need to give you warnings about this guy Donald Whiteman. It all started about a month ago when I bought an SS Gas NCO patch from this guy off ebay. All went well, great communication and fast shipping and everything. Well it turned out that he also gave me another gift in the box, an SS wolfs head collar tab (sorry I forgot the actual division name). To the best of my knowledge it is real so I got a couple hundred dollar tab for free. Not bad for a $37 gas patch huh. Well anyway I kept in contact with him until now as I bought some other items from him including an SS cap edelweiss and 2 SS sleeve shields. All I believed were original. I paid $200 for all 3. So anyway today I got an email from him trying to sell me a Deutschland cuff title, officer bullion sleeve eagle, and a bullion TK tab. I thought the items were fake so I posted it in a thread and my suspicions were confirmed. That thread is here: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=391322

So anyway I sent him an email kindly saying his items were fake but let me know if he finds any more items let me know. Well he sent me this in reply, "NICE EYE KID.WHAT YOU HAVE ARE ALSO FAKES.BYE......" I believe the items I got from him are real but now he has me worried. So i sent him another email stating I'm not a kid, and I've been collecting for awhile and I'm a 19 yrs old US Marine and he sent me this, "nice little boy . i eat f*g marines for breakfast. army ranger for 20 years go for it a** hole .maybe i will f*** your mom . oh yeah i already did ." Of course I censored it.... I included pics of the items I got from him in this thread so can you help me confirm they are original please, and hopefully he is bluffing!!!! What should my next step be. Here is the info I do have from him: Donald Whiteman from Brunswick, OH. Ebay account username is 88751196. Email address is whitemand39@yahoo.com. I guess if my items are real I don't have anything to be worried about but just to warn you guys. But the comments he made to me would come out of a 5 yr olds book and how he disgraced my Corps... unforgiveable. Your help is appreciated!!!

Items I already got from him...

Sounds like a real nut. Avoid him like the plague.

Reminds me of that other character from Germany that was stalking his ex girlfriend and ripping people off. Personally I would cease all communications with this guy and block his email. Sorry, I can't tell you if the items you showed are okay or not. Thanks for the warning.

Certainly an ignoramus, and I'd be dismayed to find that he really was a former serviceman speaking to you like that. I hope your items prove to be original...

Sorry but the Danish shield is fake, see this thread:

          http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...+danish+shield

On the bright side, I think the gas NCO and wolf's head look good.

          Regards,
          Fred

Well I must say I'm disappointed the Danish is fake. I've been looking for one for awhile now. But I guess I didn't do to bad if the others are good and I ended up getting the wolfs head for free....

Reminds me of a guy some time back on ebay, was fond of having "vintage", I believe it was, somewhere in his ebay name, and all his feedback was private.
I think he was from OH too, and he was pretty notorious for his crude emails when anything went awry.

Never purchased from him, but I called him out on one of his fake items one time and he snapped, left all kinds of threats, and started bombing my email with spam.
He made some of his threats via ebay messages, so I reported his dumb ass, and they suspended him for it.
I saved his emails for future reference, lost them in a hd crash some time ago.

Just forget about him. It is a waste of time.

                  Patches

NIce gas patch, Dachau made collar tab, edelweiss, and Croation sleeve shield. I cannot comment on the Danish sleeve shield, sorry. Others are 100%.

All are good except the Danish shield. You did fine!!
                    I agree!

The D'land cufftitle, and TK collar tab (as shown in the other thread) are duds!
So probably also bullion sleeve eagle, can't really comment on that one!

You can't help but feel sorry for the guy. How would you like to be his boss/family/coworker? You did okay - caught him in a lucid moment - he probably just isn't too predictable.

SUGGESTION: You will always start a pissing contest when you tell a dealer, et al, that the stuff he is peddling is fake. Simply say no and that is all. When you tell them that the stuff is fake, then this behavior starts. He KNOWS they're fakes and he's trying to stick it to you after selling (and giving) you a couple of honest pieces. Now comes the big deal and he wants you to bend over!!! You can just say, "No, I've just suffered a financial setback and cannot afford it." and let it go. Chances are you won't start getting this kind of treatment. He cannot come back and start calling you names if you're having a financial setback... who isn't? Same thing when you return something. Don't tell the seller that it is a fake. Make up some other valid excuse --- something believable, but don't say you don't want it because it's a fake.

                        My advice,
                        Bob

The good thing is that you're well ahead on this deal! The Gas NCO patch is probably worth $50-70, the Wolf Head around $150-200, the Croatian sleeve-shield and edelweiss another $150. The Danish shield is a repro but a good one which has fooled a number of people, including me (I paid Brant Murphy $125 for one of these a few years back) and has appeared as original in at least one reference book.

I don't agree with the logic of treating scammers with kids gloves, and actually lying to avoid any conflict.
To each their own, I call a spade a spade each and every time.
Internet pissing is laughable, easy enough to put them in a spam filter, or report them for issuing half assed threats.
Face to face is another matter, and not many would have the gall to say what they say to someones face instead of over a computer line to someone 100's or 1,000's of miles away.
