        Liste:

I picked up a copy of a photo that is part of the series in the first page, Wallonie, no collar tabs, but all other ss insignia, leather mp pouches and showing the mp, rex badge, honour badge and binos, from a different angle...

if a member wants to post the pic here, feel free to.

thought it might be of interest.

              Hello

              Wow !!!!!!!!!!!!! Very nice pics.

Old thread, but I must say: Thanks for sharing the pics !

              @MJC

The picture (Officer in front of a group of young soldiers) on side 1 of the thread (Posting #15) shows SS-Sturmbannführer Lucien Lippert, commanding Officer (cdr/CO) of the SS Sturmbrigade Wallonie. (Picture is made short after transferring the Infanterie Bataillon 373 into the Waffen SS)

Is there any chance to show these pictures at my Wallonian Homepage ?

Yeah I've seen that one before. From a Wochenschau clip perhaps?

Here's my favorite shot of Degrelle in Estonia 1944. (shown before)
A well known image but what makes it special when you pay attention is the
custom made side cap that he is wearing. DOT camo !!!!!
(in the earlier image he's wearing a Heer officer's piped side cap converted for SS use)

What about wearing straight legged DOT camo pants with tall officers boots...
You don't see that too often!
Also note rank bars on sleeve!

Here he is in the same uniform combination (hi-boots with camo) on patrol now wearing his helmet.

and this is where he put his camo side cap! tucked in the belt!
(you can see the officer's crown piping even!

                        Hello NickG

The pic out of #54 is my favorite !!!!

Here is anothe estonian pic from Degrelle:

(From left: woundet adjudant of Wagner, Degrelle, SS-Brigadeführer Jürgen Wagner)

Pics were made when parts of the Sturmbrigade were under command of SS-Brigadeführer Jürgen Wagner in the Kampfgruppe Wagner near Dorpat in Estonia.

                        Best regards, Fronti

My favorite Degrelle "story" is from estonian front near Dorpat:

New recruits of the Wallonie were transferred to estonia without the knowing of Degrelle. (At this time he was in Belgium for the funeral of his brother Edouard)

After Degrelle noticed that, he made a radio conversation with Staff of Reichsführer SS. At this time there was an order of the Führer that Degrelle must not do actions in the frontline.

Degrelle: "With or without permission, tomorrow I went to the frontline in Dorpat" (Estonia)

Staff of Reichsführer SS: "That`s a case for the court martial !"

Degrelle: "Sending new recruits after 4 days of military education to the frontline is a case for the court martial, too !"

Staff of Reichsführer SS: "Do what you want..."

                          "Nice" conversation !

                          Best regards, Fronti

I am bringing this thread back to the top for discussion as it shows a variation of this type of M43 clearly with grommets which is factory M43 and not a retailored M42/43.

Does anyone have an example of one of these caps to show ?

                                Chris
