    Portrait: Interesting uniform

    Hi,

    Here is a very late-war portrait that I recently got. Looks like he's wearing an Army M36 and converted it to SS. You still can clearly see his breast eagle and army arm eagle. I'll try to make a better scan tonight, as the picture is actually much sharper then this scan represents.

          Gary; unfortunately I do not have much further information... All I know is that he was involved in the battle for Berlin and died there.

            I heard a story about wehrmacht soldiers being transverted into ss and because the scarce of material they used their wehrmacht tunic...

            But nice foto though

            (sorry for poor english)

                  So this means all those SS tunics with the shadow of a Heer eagle were really SS tunics all along !!

                    No it means they were first Army Tunics then SS Tunics....if you believe it.

                      WoW! Now that is one great photo! It is really amazing how obvious the discoloration in the picture is.
