Variant SS Runes Tab

Hi Fellows:

I have this SS runic tab, note the pattern, with "channels" in the runes...it is close to a flatwire pattern but done in cotton.

Does anybody know what this pattern is called? I am not sure if I have had this style before and I will probably keep it in my collection.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Very Nice! Super tab.

It is a wonderful collar tab and a very late version contemporary to the more common flat BeVo pattern. I have only had one, and I traded it away. I have never found a replacement for my collection. Congratulations on a most interesting addition to your collection.

Worn SS tabs were always a favorite thing that I collected so this will go into the display as I do not have this style.

Am I to understand that it is again a different pattern from the one shown underneath ( " loose weave " ) ?
Because there , the background seems to be plain black wool ..

The example on the tunic is embroidered on to wool. The example above is woven much like a bevo tab.
