    SS Rune Insignia opinion request

I recently came across this roll of 25 SS runes. I had not seen any like these before.

Posting them here for an opinion with regard to originality.

    All help is greatly appreciated!

Never seen anything like it before. Pretty confident ruling it out as fake. As a matter of fact when I look at the threads on the reverse I am sure they are repro.

Try a black light test to see if it glows. It will quite likley glow very nicely!

My opinion is also fake, but I wanted to see if the more experienced SS collectors had a different thought.

They sell as repros for about $2.00 each. To my knowledge, they are a fantasy item that was used on many, many repro flags and bugle banners in the 80's-90's, at least, that is the only place I have ever seen them - plenty of them. I think a quick burn test would settle the matter on these - your close-up of the back looks like the typical fuzziness of polyester thread.

I saw a patch the other day where someone just lightly touched the edge with a soldering iron and melted the acetate backing. That seems like a quick and fairly non-destructive test method.

I think this dealer is selling out because it has become such a well-recognized fantasy item:

Good posting check it! Great comparison for these repros!
                  The name of the dealer?

This is a wholesale flyer from a Chicago area dealer. I think he is getting out of the Nazi Bevo buisness.
