Gee Jon, I only thought you liked Blood Orders and then you come up with this little treasure. A super ring in it's own right and with an interesting history!

                            Jon,

A sad story about the original wearer but something sweet to behold. Wouldn't you agree that it makes the whole historical experience behind such pieces so much fuller when you can not only attribute a name but also a face to the item? In this case not only the foregoing but a story as well, really brings such items alive IMO. I suppose it's the same with Blutorden as well.

I nearly parted with this one a while back but glad I held on to it. I have a Don COA with it as well. Research file is big,I have a modern photo of his grave someplace[I think but have had a PC crash since and think it was lost:[,he rests in Northern France. I will have to try to get over to visit and take a few pictures. He died 10th August 1944 and won the EK1&2 along with the close combat clasp and infantry assault badges. I'll take some pictures and post up some of his docs...............
