    Scott I here you .
In post #3 I like the bleed through patterns on the summer side .
It is those bleed patterns that give me the warm fuzzy feeling .

Hello Owen, if any pic helps me lean towards good, it is pic 3 for sure. The button holes are done by foot attachment, not the standard keyhole, but I do realize one sees a lot of foot attachment work done on dot pattern, smocks, etc. The more I see pic 3, the more I do like it, however, I've just learned never to assume right out of the gate something is good, I start with the assumption its bad, tally up good points in favor, and if they are most all on the favorable side, then I'll accept it. For me it would all be in holding and feeling the zelt, studying the pattern, repeat, and of course, I'd like to see some roller misses, and the underlying color of the material, all which the pics simply dont address, as well as more of the stitching, and grommets, and faint traces where the dye just didnt take quite well.

You point out everything about the button holes that are my exact same thoughts .
They are crude and different .
if we had this bad boy in hand the game would be over in seconds !!!!!

That is what makes me to believe this zelt to be a good piece..

well I just was not sure so i passed on the minty one. the worn had 2 tears that were most likely post war repairs, so I passed on that one also.

                Hello Galizien,
Are you able to post close up pictures of the head hole facings (flaps) and a closeup of the buttons/eyelets on the newer zelt.

I have seen original zelts with the simple buttons holes seen on the new zelt which so this is not a tell tail sign of a repro. It is not common type of button hole but they do exist.

If you can send me the above asked closeups I can give you a better idea if it is original.

                Thanks

                  sorry,
I don't think I can get many more photos from him as I already told him I was not interested. He was not great with the camera and it took so long just to get what I got.
