The one "real" ss pith helmet I have seen had a tan leather brim (like the LW), and if I remeber correctly, an RZM mark..Comment

ss pith helmet badges
I am lucky enough to own a pair of original SS pith helmet badges marked JFS 43 and definately manufactured in Zinc as they are now suffering from zinc pest
just applied the vasaline this morning - they hace three screw posts for attaching to the pith helmet. Hope this helps, regards Paul
