    Dealers in this field?

Ok I have given up on the bargains and have decided to purely focus on SS cloth insignia since at least these are affordable ( ish) except for the cufftitles and I am to poor for entire uniforms (college student) or even the better headgear possibly add affordable headgear later on .

This also gives me one field to focus on since each field has its own pitfalls and library of books to study.

What I am wondering since ebay rarely has anything good or real for sale except for some rare occasions such as a very nice SS hood/haube a week or so back and other occasional bits and bobs .

What are some dealers that offer SS insignia for a fair price ( I want an investment not pay an arm and a leg and never be able to get my money back should I choose to sell it)

I used the search function and ofcourse the best online dealer poll is there but are there any other or dealers who focus on SS items?

I like the collectors guild but read on here that the prices are a wee bit high.

Gailen David looks good and fairly priced ( from what I have seen)

And ofcourse the ruptured duck is a great site.

But are there other lesser known but honest and fair online dealers?

    Thank you and regards,Bas.

    Ciao Lupara/Bas,
Buy reference books, Study the subject when you have time, focus on one area save money up and buy quality from the e-stand on WAF!
it's good to deal with other fellow collectors because you often have the chance to meet new friends.
Another site that I suggest you to visit is:
http://www.germanwarbooty.com of our fellow member John T
Honest, fairly priced and a pleasure to deal with (my personal experience)
just my suggestions as a collector on a budget!
    Good luck
    MAX

If we post them, they won't be lesser-known any more.

Actually, I have bought some nice SS cloth at a reasonable price, right off good old E Stand!

I'm thinking of a nice original SS Panzer Trap, removed from a cap, I bought from a collector from Texas.

                1) buy books, on militaria and those others showing period images

                2) look at everything at every show

                3) pay attention to the collectors here who post detailed explanations or images to support an opinion to your question instead of those who just type "bad" with a thumbs down symbol on specifics such as cufftitles, etc. Just saying "junk" teaches you nothing.

And remember every dealer cares about money first. What lengths some go to to get it can be extreme.

I want to thank everyone for the advice and great sites.

Yeah I am trying to do my research,so far I have John R Angolia's Cloth insignia of the SS,Robin Lumsden's books on the SS and detecting the fakes and the collectors guide to cloth millitary headgear of the third reich and one other WW2 millitaria in general book. I am well stocked for period footage and history books so that's no problem

Anyway I am heading for Maastricht tomorrow until Sunday and will head into Belgium for a bit maybe I'll pick up some interesting books there.

If anyone else has any suggestions and advice keep them coming.

                  Thanks again

                  Regards,Bas.
