A friend got these from a vet and I noticed this maker is found only in fakes. Is this still the current thought on a zinc set like this. Was found with some other insignia, after vet had passed, by the family and sold to my friend for almost nothing. Thanks for your thoughts.

Yes it is and it's not the first time by any means that a vet had fakes in his possession.
