SS Armband - Fake IMHO

Hi Everyone,

I've been offered this in trade. However, first impressions, it strikes me as a crude fake. Reasons? Poorly cut and applied upper and lower bands. Very poor and almost deformed swas. White disc unlike previous originals I have owned. Single stitch line to upper and lower bands, rather than two. RZM tag looks okay but I know these have been very well faked.

As such, before ruining the present owner's day, I would appreciate some second opinions.

It still looks raw and undistinguished to me, and not of quality for the period. Perhaps RH is correct; I certainly have no expertise in this area.

Red wool is the wrong type of weave--too loose and no nap--, fabric tape of swastika is too narrow, stitch is longer than usually seen on original armbands. Robert, are you sure about the RZM label?

Erich, finally I found a little difference compared this this below example ...

There are different variations for the RFSS tag out. Longer time ago I thought they all should have the thicker side stitch on each circle but this is not true for every RFSS tag.

So I would rate this above one as a possible very nice done copy.
