    Opinions please on Brass Eagle

    Hello,
I have again been offered what I consider to be a reproduction Brass Eagle.
As with all the items that are offered to me I like to seek the opinions of those who are more expert than I and they would be appreciated.

Looking at the previous picture it appears to be white metal but I can assure you it is brass.

Yes, it is a fake. However, if you paint it gold, you can sell it on the estand as a "political" eagle:

They are not identical, but they are similar.

I am an oaf. Of course it is not an SS eagle.
            I must be losing it
            Sorry!

It sounds like I may have confused you. That eagle is a fake of an SS eagle. I was merely pointing out that someone sold a similar-looking fake on the estand, labeled as a "political" eagle.

Incidentally, I am not accusing that seller of any intentional deception; it looks like a simple misunderstanding.

                Hello Bwanek1,
I was getting confused..it's my age.
I checked my Hoheitszeichen book and sure enough it is an SS eagle and now that I remember these eagles were knocked out in the 60s and I remember at the time how tacky they were compared to the originals!
It is so long since I stopped collecting that I have forgotten most of what I learned.
                Cheers
                Doug

It is an SS Eagle, but it is a fake as Bwanek pointed out.
The other so called gold political eagle and other the eagles are all questionnable, especially the NSKK eagle as well.

Anyway that 'gold political' eagle has been sold.
