      Fez

I HAVE seen metal insignia on a fez in original photos. The fez, however, is certainly not like they were normally made. I've never seen a lined one. I guess stranger things have happened. Without provenance, or an original example with lining, I wouldn't buy it, unless the insignia is real, and worth the price asked.

        Fez

Is there provenance of any kind that marries these 2 items together?

It isn't the type of fez you would expect to see issued to a member of the Skanderbeg division, for a start. The 'Albanerfez' was conical. I haven't see pictures of Skanderbeg members wearing them but there are pictures of members of the Kossovar Albanian battalion of Handschar wearing them in George Lepre's book about Handschar.

Notice the ID doc spells "Skanderbeg" as "Skanderberg"...

Maybe it should be spelled "scammerbeg" ? Just kidding...ive never seen a lined fez either. possibly for winter wear? maybe the original insignias were removed, and replaced with these. I dont recall seeing a tassle...............caveat emptor por favor.
