What Do We Call Ourselves?

Fellow Forum Members,

I have been wondering for a long time about what the name of this hobby is. I saw the poll about "Nazi or not", but does anyone know of a "scientific" or official name that could be applicable? For example, stamp collectors are called philatelists. Coin collectors are called numismatists. What are 3rd Reich collectors called? If anyone has any ideas, please say. I think this hobby deserves a name!

racist or neo-nazi.

Before having someone view my items, I usually start off by stating that I am not politically inclined in that direction. I tell them that I vote Republican. But that doesn't seem to be any better an identifier now, after George the Lesser, screwed the pooch, like Republicans normally do after getting into the White House. I still hate Ronald Reagan's guts for allowing a law to be passed restricting and discontinuing the sale of legal registered machine gun receivers to private citizens in 1986......... But, I digress.

Bob is right on the money, unless you are the curator of the Holocaust museum, or the Imperial War Museum, Im afraid we shall always be seen in this light, imagine explaining to a black person you collect Klu Klux Klan memorbalia, sometimes it helps to play devil's advocate, personally, I don't care what others think, never have, never will, no one has a constitutional right NOT to be offended, however, with the advent of political correctness, just a new word for Orwellian "newspeak", you would think we did.
