This cufftile is bad - the stitching on the backside outside edges is not correct.

Many collectors have been fooled by ths reproduction, which has been on the market for better than a decade. The faults include: The wording on originals is longer, when placed side by side with an original; the lettering and borders are of a "bronze" color on these post-war copies instead of grey, as originals depict -- and the borders tend to be a lot narrower than on orignals; the letters on this repro example are more oval -- too much height, whereas the original cuff letters are more rounded; the material utlized in the title is not the same as what is used on an orignal. In the Angolia reference, Cloth Insignia
of the SS, 1st ed., p. 325, one can see an excellent example of an original, along with its other manfactured counterparts. Considering all,
the cuff's only value is for use by reinactors.

                    Fake

Why are People commenting on something they know nothing about? That is a very bad cufftitle.

Well, it's a good thing that you didn't spend your money based on the foolish responses of those who--once again--responded immediately about something they knew nothing about.

This style of fake is obvious due to the pattern of "dots" on the backside edges, which have a sawtooth pattern of varying heights, rather than being evenly sized as they are on originals. This feature has been discussed MANY times on this forum. I wish those who quickly responded that this POS was real would do more time studying and reading the older threads than responding with little or no knowledge about the item being discussed. It is irresponsible to tell someone to go ahead and spend his hard earned money on an item because you believe it to be real when you have no basis for making such a judgement.
