Fake insignia

I am pretty sure that these are fakes, but can anybody say when and where they appeared? Are they indicative of any particular headgear fakers style?

Yes, both are fakes. The "wear" just happens to be in some of the areas where these copies differ most noticably from the originals they are trying to duplicate. Obviously, the faker was tryig to obscure those telltale features.

These known fakes dating from the early 80's. They proliferated after Benders SS insignia book shows the skull as one of the 4 basic patterns

Yours have been "seasoned" to confuse.

Old droopy there was certainly around mid-late 70's to my knowledge.
