I was going to buy them from a large well known website, if anything don't say your sorry, but rather your welcome, because I am truly thankful for all of the sage advice and the many times that various members of this forum that have volunteered their seasoned knowledge freely and have steered me away from spending literally thousands of dollars on fake crap!

Those are absolutely horrible fakes intended to fool novices. Any dealer who would sell such crap is obviously an outright crook.

Wow... thats sucks! that just adds a whole other level of difficulty to the game..... now, not only do i have to worry about buying fakes from individuals, but now supposed "established" dealers are offering them too!???

Are you serious?

You must not have been collecting very long if you believe that buying from a dealer, "established" or otherwise, is any sort of guarantee of originality.

Quite to the contrary, the vast majority of people who make a living by selling TR militaria do so at the expense of novices who have no idea what they are buying and rely on the "guarantee" given them by the seller, which is usually completely worthless.

There are a few excellent dealers (some of whom are members of this forum) who are completely honest. Still, no one can be an expert in all areas and all delers, just like all collectors, make occasional mistakes. However, like I said, anyone who would offer the obvious fakes shown in this thread as originals is a complete crook.

So, who is this "established" dealer in whom you had placed such faith?

I realize that, I was only getting to the point that it is sad when a big dealer offers something as original, knowing that it is not. And yes I may have just focused on TR militaria 2.5 years ago, but at least I have sense enough to thoroughly research any and every item before I throw any money away on it.

As far as me naming the dealer, I am not going to publicly make a scene that might discredit someone, that is not my intention.
