Thats a qualification patch for a gas mask instructor. As a Waffen-SS and gas mask collector, i just had to have it.

Indeed, any period pics availabe with "gas instrucor" insignia ?

There are a lot of ss trade insignia that were produced period that there are no period pictures of them in wear, also the ss utilised the army trade badges in a lot of cases as well, although it was thought that this was an early practice, however I have seen pictures on army trade insignia being worn by the ss throughout the war

Gas masks

Gas mask collector eh

I know where the First Allied gas mask is on display. In my Hometown of St Johns newfoundland the gas helmet that Cluney Macpherson the doctor of the 1st Royal Nfld Regt British Army designed is at the Newfoundland Mueseum on duckworth street.

I am going to mail pics to one of the moderators when i get my very good fake ss overseas cap back for people to see what Terry Von Koheler of Florida USA Fooled me with and offered no refund. If its alright with the moderators who wants to post it for me.
