I have no problems with the tab. It appears to have been made in the same shop as the one worn by Anton Ameiser. A beautiful piece of insignia.

That oxidation is common when exposed to moisture. I Like....We all hope to score one similar someday......Is there a story that goes with it from the source, as it appears to be a vet found piece. Fine detail....spellbounding. Thanks for sharing it.Comment

This tab was brought back with other war souvenirs by PFC Edward Recchia, C Battery, 441st Anti-Aircraft Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. It was among several random pieces of insignia he had given as a gift to the author of a book, in which Recchia is cited as a source for providing some of his wartime experiences, providing air defense for the medical units on the beach during the landings at Salerno, Italy. After Italy, Recchia served in France and Germany. I obtained this tab and two others from the book's author.Originally posted by juoneen View Post
Even without knowing the tab's history (which I didn't learn until later), I knew this tab was original as soon as I saw it in hand. The materials and construction are unquestionably original.
