    SS Cap eagle real or fake?

    Hello guys,
    i'm new to the forum, pleae correct me if i post this item in the wrong section

    I would like to know if the ss cap eagle on the picture is fake or real
    A big ww2 dealer in the netherlands is almost sure it's real but i would like your oppininon.

    I put it on high res to make it available for zooming.

        It is not that he thinks it is fake, it simply is fake.

        As for how you can tell, I suggest that you start by learning which markings were original and which weren't to eliminate those which are completely bogus. Beyond that, it takes years of study. The information you will need to confidently navigate this field could fill a book. There is no single reference yet, but much of what you need is in the older threads on this forum. In the case of this eagle, besides the markings, I suggest that you look at the shape of the breast feathers and lower wing feathers and compare them to known originals by all makers for starters.

            Just found this one long forgotten in a box whilst clearing my "room". I'm pretty sure it's fake, just wanted to double check before I lose it again.
