    M43 Officer Conversion Tunic

I know it was not uncommon for an officer to wear an enlisted mans tunic in the field but did some of them (in this case an M43 tunic) cut the original collar off and field sew an officer bottle green collar on? Remove the straight pocket flaps and replace them (and the pocket) with flaps that are scalloped and lined? Thanks!

Anythng is possible, but I would guess off the top of my head that if someone went through that much trouble the sewing would have been much better that you describe.

in those days in germany and austria suits and clothing down to shoes were hand made to the highest of workmanship, in the towns and citys. military cloths were made in camps and by professional taillers. when you joined up if you had the skills thats what you did in the army.
