I wonder if the marking on this leather binocular case is from some SS unit. The binoculars, E. Leitz, style and serial number including the date stamped on the case is 1936. Does anyone know what the large "I" stands for? Any help would be appreciated.

I think the mark is adolf hitler as a double (roman numeral 2)..is der fuhrer. They put that on vehicles usually painted. I would normally think the T totenkopf, but thats not the first ss division. That would make them conflict, so i am just guessing, but may be the T is for another german word related to the job or specific geographical area like thuringen, or such ???, lets see what others better in the know can lend to this thread. Those are fine optics, are they clear, and are they in paralax? Seems so , as i dont detect any drop marks on this pair.. sweet. 325 may be a vehicle number .
