according to german sources, not one of the over 200 motorcyclists in the 1938 brandenburg gelaendefahrt finished within the prescribed time. the riders were underway for 16 hours without interruption, had nothing to eat, and became exhausted. the results were two dead and 20 injured. complaints were registered claiming that the unreasonable demands caused destruction of equipment and endangered the racers. quite a race.
