    Good

I see nothing about your Cap that alarms me. Is it real? Well considering People who really know what they are doing have been sewing these together for years it's very hard to tell. I like to have these in hand and then go with my gut. This hat look fine to me. I see no flaw in it's construction from computer fotos.

At best it is field-made from a shelter quarter. It is not a factory-manufactured camouflaged field cap. Therefore, it is very difficult to authenticate something like this. Without solid provenance, such as getting it directly from the Waffen-SS veteran who wore it, it is unauthenticated.

                    Milan,

I love the cap! I would have it in a second. Its definatly not a factory cap but it just seems to omit a nice good vibe even from ther to my computer. I think its a company tailor made cap in the field but a solid original i would say. Matt

This cap has the construction details from a factory made cap, its not a fieldmade one. Apart from the removed sweatband, it looks like an early textbook cap without grommets. You will find early caps without grommets and often without the central seam on top. I would like to have the cap in hand, but from the pictures, looks 100% to me.
                          Best regards, Tom

I like the cap very much and to me it looks also like factory made with the sweatband cut off.

I happen to have Willi Schumacher's camouflaged field cap with me, the one with the original camouflaged insignia, and I compared the sewing details between this one and Willi's and I will categorically state: the cap in this thread is FIELD-MADE... it is NOT factory-made.

And I'm not going to divulge the intricate details to prove it. You'll just have to take my word for it.
