The very real two-edged sword of such vigorous exposure from its devotees.
Makes me glad I refused to scan images of a rare SS art book for those who asked.
I am getting exceedingly grumpy in my further advanced collecting stage.

One look at all the expert counterfeit items from China is enough to see what can be done with the right equipment.
I've had a few well known publishers purchase photos of some of my posters but I thoroughly check them out first. A few I knocked back because they looked suspicious. I did supply the cover to this book on Swiss SS volunteers.
It pays to be careful and I don't blame you for being grumpy. I'm getting the same.......Attached Files

But, as for a "aesthetic sense" one cant be too sure... I have a lot of SS publications ,and I can assure you that every now and then there appears somthing that I would never have thought the SS would have had drawn up and printed within their own propaganda material...I would have thought "too garish" or "too modern" or "the artist allowed way too much artistic license ."
These are images I keep to myself. others will soon enough digitalize them-I suppose.
And lets not forget that as far as the purveyors of fine art are concerned almost all SS /NSDAP art is kitsch.
I love it, but the art world says it is kitsch or worse.
So in a sense, we are splitting very fine distinctions between what "we" define as authenticly (in the artistic sense-not era production values vs. modern scanners sense) depicting SS aesthetics and not.

I am totally agree with Michael. If someone want to be surprise about what is written in the a lot of SS publications can read the incredible book of
Edwige Thibaut L'ordre ss : ethique et ideologie
free download here (in french) in italian is publish last year by Editrice Thule Italia
http://archive.org/details/LordreSsthiqueEtIdologie
For the rest if someone call as Kitsch the work of artist like Wilhelm Petersen, Wolfgang Willrich, Walther Hoeck, Adolf Wissel, Ernst Krause, Ottomar Anton, Harald Damsleth, Gino Boccasile, Hermann Otto Hoyer, Finn Wigforss and many other must be blind or full of ideological prejudices.

Hi,
the book by Edwige Thibaut (pseudonym) is only a very partial compilation of around 45 to 50 SS-Leithefte (less than 1/3 of the SS-Leithefte published, not even counting the SS-Germanische Leithefte). Many errors in their identification.
The original print is difficult to find, but new copies were done a few years ago, in the exact same quality of printing. Only one small info can identify if you have a reprint or an original.
You can find the reprint for 50 to 60 Euros.
See You
Vince
