SS bevo trop scull help

asking you for your help:1:is this scull OK?
2:is it for M 43 field cap or for side cap or for both?
3: is it true some SS soldiers removed their eagle from trop field caps so only the scull remained ? The reason was...?

Tropical insignia on camo (or field gray) caps and uniforms are incorrect and almost certainly post-war applied. You are absolutely right. I am confused in terms of the use in camo cap's.
