Is it orginal?
Is it SS or KM?

It looks a KM to me

It had SS insignia on it for a long time as all the nap is still visible where the skull and eagle were.

Looks good , could be a good SS one , SS also used this type of sidecap but it was not common.

Indeed, a KM model in my opinion.
It has a double stiching line inside as you can see.

KM for me too, I know of a real SS stripped one for sale at the moment for 875 euro

Hi,

Try to do a search on this topic and compare yours. There has been some discussions on these caps in KM design. Several positive comments have been made towards these as long as they are in the color used by SS, having correct details, no KM stamps, etc. KM had a much darker color.

There are at least one tread wehre some very experienced collectors commented on one of these found together with other belongings from a ss man.

You will notice if you look closely it appears your cap had a soutache at one point.. You may find color remnants buries inside flap or thread,,coastal artillery KM have yellow soutache.. I LIKE the single thread loop on the front of your cap often seen on SS caps..also with caps that have removable soutache.. JMHO Billbert

Your right about the collor.. It's different then the one on the Collectors guild.
It's on his way to me. If I have it I will look close if there are any signs of treadt.

I'm sorry for the delay.. My digital camera did'nt work fine.. and still does not.
So i'm sorry for the pictures

But I see NO treadt that lead to a soutache.

I hear't many people sad it was a KM sidecap.. But KM did only have that dark green collor like there jackets and trousers and not like this SS and Heer collor?

Why could'nt the SS just have the same model caps? Why is it always a KM cap( There is alot of photo prove that these been worn by the SS?)
