Sorry I am sure these are repro. Never seen a real eagle with that sort of sparrow's head. Strange beak too. The TK has a weird jaw and left eye don't look too good. The nasal area looks incorrect too.

not to come off sounding like a di*k here, but does anyone really know for sure if something is original or not!? it seems like these days, no matter what someone shows, others always find it necessary to sh*t all over the items, without knowing for sure if it is real or not. IMHO there is probably never a way to tell if these things are real, without using carbon dating or something like that.

i think if you got these both from that wallet, and the widow is telling the truth, these peices are original.

IMO they look like two original variants that spent several decades in a sweaty old wallet.

I wouldn't consider differing opinions sh*ting all over items. A dissenting opinion was given on the insignia and he explained his reason for saying so. That is his prerogative and there is absolutely nothing wrong with this. Varying opinions make this hobby challenging and fascinating and we ALL learn something new everyday no matter how long we've been at it. Some people go only by "textbook" or what is generally accepted as original in the hobby. That is their safe zone and there is nothing wrong with that either. Others like to collect variants because they are unusual or for whatever other reasons they choose. Some variations are rare enough that not all collectors have been exposed to them. Take Reitz insignia for instance. Probably most SS cloth collectors would pass on insignia made by them because they've never seen it and it is not "textbook".

...I can correct this anatomical imperfection if you like,but it will cost you this ..."copy" scull & eagle.

J think some people have to travel to sønderjylland ! There they ll find amaging things which doesnt fit textbooks
