From these pictures I agree with you that the eagle and TK has been
post war added (aniway I would ask some detailed pictures to the sewn)but what about the cap?it looks good to me.

          Hi Francesco!

At the first sight the cap looking good... But, it's not clear on the pics you've posted, seems to me as it carried almost the same aging, even on the concealed parts... A thing that doesn't like to me too much!! Another thing that don't have to me a good sound is the sewn around the eyelet, that looks like too much rude for a Pz cap...

A hand inspection should be great, but that in mind the details I've talk about...

          Hope this help! Cheers!

            Hello Pik,how are you,
personally I have no great problem with the cap.It looks pretty good from these pictures.
Also the sewn around the buttonhole do not worries me.
I have got some more additional pics (I can't post all here........they are really too much)
and now I belive it could be also an untouched example........but I'll prefer to have the cap in my hand before to talk about.

              Hi Francesco!
              That's fine, thanks!

By you side the aging is pretty uniform? By the monitor looks to me slightly strange... Anyway, you know this field, and the WSS stuff... Let us know as the cap will be in your hands .. and the last sentence about it.

              Good luck!

I think this cap stands a chance of being good, IMO.

If I was forced to speculate I'd say that based on the wear the insignia were from a sidecap, they show the typical wear patterns.

                  Ian.

Yes Ian,that's possible.I'll wait to have the cap in my hand.Aniway I'm interested that is an original SS Panzer cap, restored or not.Of course,if it were an untouched example this would be great.

It does look like a restored example but from the photos it does look pretty good. Too bad the "restorer" did not find some better matching insignia.

Certainly possible the insignia is reapplied..ALSO certainly possible that cap has more wear than camera shows because its black. also the wear patterns could also come from smashing the helmet onto the hat when needed..JMHO Billbert
OUT of curiuosity what it the asking price for the cap from your source Franceso??

                          Hello,
I will receive the cap tomorrow and not today. The seller told me that the cap is in worn condition, the lining is consumed but intact in the frontal side and under the TK the wool is
                          in near mint condition.
Billbert,I have sent you a PM.

The cap is NO original. The form of button hole is no correct with the WWII fabrications....The insignia ok that...........

                              "the form of button hole"
The cap is good and the "form" of the button hole is correct.
