hard to say with "photos" like this dont look like a textbook factory made one,but it do has a big chance to be real war time field made cap.

My advice for someone interested in purchasing such a cap is to get Mike Beaver's "Camouflage Uniforms of the Waffen-SS" and then to read it.
There one can find a number of legit variations of factory made caps.

A genuine cap of that pattern would be in the area of 2500-3000.- usd.

Also a forum search here will help you in finding original examples.

That is 100% correct of course, a fieldmade cap can/should only reach a high price when it has good provenance.

Ja,,,I have Beavers books and checked them out in regards to these caps etc. Of course there can be so many variations in construction techniques so a cap like this its hard to say for me. The best thign always is to see anything in person and I will have it in my hands in a few days and will repost some good pics then.
